We are a local community neighbourhood centre in the heart of Springwood. We offer an array of services, programs and community connection opportunities for locals in Logan from all walks of life. LECNA (Logan East Community Neighbourhood Centre) is also a loan provider for low and no interest loans for people throughout Queensland.
We have built an excellent reputation in the local community over the past 30 years for supporting community members to “Build Better Lives”. Our aim is to create a sense of belonging, welcome and connection; we solve problems by working with people and empowering them to live better lives. With the right type of support and information, you can create the changes you need to build a better life.
LECNA was established in July 1990 when our first premises were officially opened by former Logan City Mayor Rod Golledge in May 1991. Currently, LECNA leases the Springwood Community Centre from the Logan City Council, however, we govern and manage the centre ourselves and consider it our home and the base for most of our activities.
LECNA has a Manager and a team of staff and volunteers who support our local community and meet its needs. We are an Incorporated Association with DGR and charitable status.
LECNA is governed by a voluntary Management Committee that is elected each year at its Annual General Meeting. The committee is responsible for ensuring the legal and ethical operation of the centre and strategic planning and they meet monthly. Members of the public are welcome to give feedback and/or make complaints about the service.
You are welcome to do so either via our Feedback box in reception or via email: [email protected] or Ph: (07) 3808 4529 and speak to one of the Managers.
All feedback is welcome.

We were also nominated for the Business Achievers Award in 2019. LECNA’s founder, Colleen Benson, had “Benson Place”, a DOH building in Springwood named after her in 2019.
Are you looking for charities to donate to?
If you’re searching for charities to donate to, we would love to engage with you! We invite all local businesses and professionals to make a tax-deductible donation to LECNA to help us deliver our life transforming services, events and programs to the local community.
Alternately you may be willing to explore giving customers a choice of rounding up for charity (rounding up to the nearest dollar on a transaction) and making us the local beneficiaries. If you are from a local golf club or own a local printing business, you could donate your venue or free printing to support us also for example. Every bit counts in terms of giving back to the local community and we have the reputation and accountability to prove that donations will be spent supporting community members to build better lives.
Some of the ways we help our community include:
- Emergency Relief, Police Referrals, Work Development Orders
- Volunteer opportunities and student placements
- Tax help
- Christmas hampers to those in need.
- Financial counsellors, low and no interest loans.
- Social groups, playgroups and school holiday activities.
- Personal development programs including Life Skills Education and Bringing Up Great Kids programs.
- Affordable venue hire.
LECNA is a very worthy community cause, so if you’re looking for charities to donate to, call us today! We are currently running an end of year give now campaign go here to donate GiveNow – Logan East Community Neighbourhood Association
