National Seniors Australia Ltd

National Seniors was established by a group of visionary Queenslanders in 1976. Now, almost 40 years on with over 200,000 members, 140 branches, and 70 employees, it is the consumer lobby for older Australians and the fourth largest organization of its type in the world.

Let's Get Singing!

It turns out you don’t even have to be a good singer to reap the rewards. According to one 2005 study, group singing “can produce satisfying and therapeutic sensations even when the sound produced by the vocal instrument is of mediocre quality”.

Time: Wed 4.00pm-5.00pm

Cost: $4.00 per session

Queen Beez Craft

Research shows that knitting and other forms of textile crafting such as sewing, weaving and crocheting have quite a lot in common with mindfulness and meditation – all are reported to have a positive impact on mind health and wellbeing.

Time: 12noon-3.00pm

Cost: $4.00 per session.

Marion's Card Group

Create beautiful and memorable gift cards for that special occasion.

Time: Tues 12.45pm-3.00pm.

Cost $5.00 per session

Adult Children of Alcoholic Parents

This group gives support to adult children who grew up experiencing this family history.

Time: Tues 12.30pm-2.30pm.

Cost: $3 per session

Logan East Littlies

Playgroups are a great way for small children to practice the fine art of getting along with others and trying new ways to play. A regular playgroup can be great for mums, dads and caregivers offering lots of support and social contact.

Time: Monday 9.30am-11.30am.

Ages: 0 – 5 years.

Cost: $4.00 per family.

LECNA Cards Group

Jacks, Aces, Kings & Queens… Playing cards can do a lot more for you that just killing time. Some of the games with playing cards compel you to think and some of them just make you think harder… in this way they help you jog your brain cells and make you a more patient and thinking person.

Time: Wed 9.00am-12.30pm.

Cost $3.00 per session

"Choice for Life" Cancer Support Group

What do we offer? Sincerity, laughter, sharing and caring support, healing meditation and nutritional information. Focus on non-invasive and holistic alternatives, integrated and orthodox medicine.

Time: Wed (2nd Wed of each month) 1.00pm-3.00pm.

Cost: by donation

LECNA Bingo!

Come along and enjoy a great night out with family & friends while supporting the community and their fundraising efforts. We have great prizes available from household  goods (linen & electrical) and gifts for family members for those special occasions.

Time: Fri (3rd Fri of each month). Doors open 6.30pm – Eyes Down 7.00pm

Community Programs

Butterfly Wings Early Years Consultancy

“Sharing and Caring” (0-2yo) program is a group experience for parents and their babies focusing on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs and stories together. Parents develop an understanding of early years’ brain research, early literacy, early numeracy and develop a repertoire of rhymes, songs and stories to share with their child and family.

Program registration restricted to only 16 families.
Cost : Free.

Venue: Springwood Community Centre.

KNIT Life-Skills Education Program

This program offers support to you by linking with a mentor who will journey with you and assist you to implement these positive changes. We will challenge you to make changes. This program is different – it is unique. This can change your life and that of your children the creative living skills acquired will be a valuable tool to help your family to cope with arising issues.

Broadband for Seniors

Broadband for Seniors aims to provide Australian seniors (+50) with free access to computers, the internet and individual workshop training through the establishment of internet kiosks in the local community. Senior citizens will be able to learn new skills, stay in contact with family and friends and meet new people by accessing these kiosks.
